Nobody in touring AV picks pixel pitch from a datasheet alone—it’s always driven by viewing distance + camera use.

From real production setups:

  • P1.9–P2.6 → XR stages, broadcast sets, close corporate shows (1–5m)
  • P2.6–P3.9 → concerts, touring stages, conferences (3–10m)
  • P4–P8 → stadiums, outdoor festivals, long-throw viewing (10m+)

In practice, if the front row can clearly see pixel structure, the pitch is already too large for that job.

This is one of those things every AV tech learns the hard way on their first big show.
