Short answer from broadcast engineers: only if cameras are involved.

Typical split:

  • 3840Hz → standard events, audience viewing, corporate staging
  • 7680Hz → broadcast studios, XR stages, cinema production, slow-motion capture

At high shutter speeds (1/500–1/2000), lower refresh systems can show:

  • scan lines
  • flicker bands
  • rolling brightness artifacts

👉 That’s why broadcast-grade pipelines basically treat 7680Hz as a “camera-safe baseline,” not a luxury spec.
