What Qualifies As a Large-Scale LED Display?

In the led display industry, a screen is typically considered “large-scale” based on a few key factors:

• Size:
  A screen is generally classified as large if it covers more than 200 square meters. Common examples include outdoor led billboards, main stage screens at events, stadium displays, and led façades on city buildings.
• Pixel Pitch:
  The smaller the pixel pitch (the distance between individual pixels), the higher the image clarity — though this also increases cost and is better suited for close-up viewing. For large outdoor screens, a larger pixel pitch is acceptable. Typical options range from P5 and P6.67 to P10, P16, and even P20 for extra-large installations.
• Resolution:
  To deliver clear visuals, large video screens must strike the right balance between pixel pitch and control system performance. A minimum resolution of 1080p (1920×1080) is often the entry point for acceptable image quality. Higher resolutions like 4K and 8K deliver even more impressive results.

This massive display is made up of 64,000 LED panels in 780 unique geometric shapes, with an edge-to-edge tolerance of just 0.8 millimeters (0.031 inches).
